The union atmosphere ministry on Wednesday suspended the clearance of 93 mines in Goa due to companies flouting forest laws and regulations, authorities stated. "The ministry has suspended clearance of 93 mines and the companies will need to submit all needed documents to get atmosphere clearance anew," Atmosphere Minister Jayanthi Natarajan told reporters in Panjim.

The suspension uses the Justice Megabytes Shah Commission report that was tabled in parliament on Friday, stated that Goa's iron ore mining scam was worth nearly Rs. 35,000 crore.

Justice Shah in the report also indicted the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), the union ministry for atmosphere and forests (MoEF), condition directorate of mines, the condition forest department and the Goa Condition Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) for that illegal mining. The report states illegal mining was spread over 500 hectares of area, hundreds of acres which was forest and government-possessed land.

The voluminous report supports the condition government and central government departments party towards the scam, together with the effective mining operators here, who, based on Justice Shah, plundered natural assets and caused an "unrestricted, unchecked and not regulated export of iron ore to China", which made the exporters of ore "more potent and more potent".

The report states that forest laws and regulations were completely flouted through the mining companies as well as mines that have been unlawfully functioning in forest areas weren't stopped by government bodies.

"All mining activities ought to be stopped with immediate effect, including transportation for those mining rents where there's no approval or clearance from the Standing Committee of NBWL (National Board of untamed Existence) and therefore are falling within 10 km of eco-sensitive buffer zone," Shah has suggested.
